Thursday weddings are the new weekend!  Caroline and Josh celebrated their wedding day at Waterloo Village in Stanhope NJ this past fall on a perfect Thursday afternoon.  Even though the wedding event space at Waterloo is modern rustic, the grounds of the village are a photographer’s dream.  From old barns and buildings to lakes and fields, there is absolutely no shortage of places to make amazing photos at this venue.  As a funny anecdote, those of you who’ve worked with us know that Carrie and I use radios when shooting weddings so we can communicate discretely throughout the day.  It turns out, the staff at Waterloo used the same radios we do so we were all able to communicate by switching channels if needed.

Caroline and Josh chose to do a first look as a part of their wedding day and in addition, followed it up with a private sharing of their vows before the ceremony.  Having their son be a part of that was super special, even if he seemed a little bored (see below)!  Since we were able to do all the bridal party and family photos prior to the ceremony, it allowed everyone to enjoy the cocktail hour as the sun began to set.  In addition, by not having to rush around after the ceremony, the couple and their guest were able to join the Alpacas during the cocktail hour!  That’s right, Alpaca…Waterloo Village has a pair of Alpacas that can come out and join in the wedding fun for part of the evening.  This wedding was definitely one of our favorites of the year.  As you know, we’re suckers for these rustic, elegant weddings and Caroline and Josh’s did not disappoint at all!
